Claims Analysis

Owners, Engineers and Construction Managers are excited to have access to the same detail estimating that your electrical contractor is using. An accurate cost comparison can reveal many surprising things, but it is unparalleled as a negotiating tool. Check that labor burden isn’t being charged twice, actual material costs are used and the mark-up is consistent with the construction documents. ECS attempts to be within 10% of the actual cost of the change order by using the following format.

  • Utilize NECA labor rates as the standard for change orders.
  • Trade Service published material prices with current update and common discount level to establish actual material cost.
  • Con-Est electrical estimating software is used to develop a cost estimate typical of format used by most major contractors. This is supported with a material list, labor hours, equipment rental, and tool usage for each claim.

This service may be used on a one time basis, but is best utilized when inherent change orders are being anticipated. ECS would familiarize itself with the construction documents in advance and be prepared to provide a satisfactory turn around time when services are required.
